I don't know if I would classify this as pizza, even deep dish. Maybe pie? Your thoughts?

It's set up like Chicago style deep dish, but also sad vegan (I can easily eat vegan food, but that recipe just makes me sad).

Looks like a topless pot pie or a casserole. Definitely not pizza

Upon reflection, I guess pizza is a type of pie.

Lasagne pizza seems wrong -- pick one.

But I have no strong feeling on whether it's pizza or not -- would have to taste it to decide. I don't like the idea of black-eyed peas on pizza, but there are all kinds of weird ingredients used on pizza, so it's not a disqualifier. Nor is the absence of cheese -- there are cheeseless pizzas.

I like a good Chicago deep dish pizza (and don't see the point of mediocre versions), but this appeals to me more as a vegan pizza: http://minimalistbaker.com/my-favorite-vegan-pizza/

"Is this pizza?" Is a loaded question even when discussing that which is generally accepted as pizza. #TeamThinCrust (Sometimes Sicilian. But never deep dish. Yeah I said it.)

    This, this is a pie.

Edited to add: It's not lasagna either.

That thing could get in my belly so quickly. Looks like it has a buttload of protein too.

I am not vegan or vegetarian. I would eat it if someone made it for me - it sounds kinda tasty. Not tasty enough to make it myself...

    It is NOT pizza.

Not a pizza. And it sounds gross. Tofu? Ugh.

I wouldn't exactly call it a pizza. More like some sort of savory pie. Sounds delicious, though.

Not pizza, not lasagna, not pie, not quiche.
I would call it a generic Italian food flavored tomato bean casserole in a bread crust?
I probably wouldn't make it but it is probably okay tasting.

Seriously. You can do regular flour + water + yeast for crust, tomato sauce and either daiya if you want cheese or veggies.

It seems like there is a lot going on in this photo. That dish is having an identity crisis. The shape of it suggests pie. The black eyed peas don't suggest pizza, but perhaps might be okay in lasagna.
I'd second the "okay" tasting, which makes it sound like a hefty investment, ingredient wise, for something that is 'meh'...but that's my own opinion..

It's definitely not a quiche, since most of those use eggs to firm up the filling. It looks like a chicago-style deep dish pizza to me.

It's lasagne with a crust. Pie? Maybe. Not a pizza.

The thought of eating "pizza" without cheese makes me sick.
