    @mph323 - definitely didn't expect it.

    @enterdanger - since the accident I have swapped the perils of commuting in London to a rather more peaceful commute in Essex, (admittedly not quite the scenery that @NorthCascades has but I like it):

    Dude you landed on your feet?

    That's just cool

    Were you like "I'm batman" ?

    :bigsmile:

    I so wish I had the presence of mind to say that! After some stunned silence let's just say the things that came out of my mouth weren't quite so eloquent...

    Oh dear, poor bike! And poor you, of course. But at least you did manage to get his car insurance details, I hope? With that, a new upgrade?

    That said, you're alive, for that I'm sure your family must be grateful. :-)

    I will say this. I bet people don't see you and Spiderman in he same room together if you were able to wack a door doing 22mph then land on your feet....

    Yeah - the driver was insured and very apologetic. I'd originally bought the frame half price in a clearance sale but they went off the list price at the time of the accident, so I actually got more than I paid for it which was a bonus. The car door was so bent out of shape they couldn't get it shut - not very forgiving of me but have to admit I did feel quite happy about that!

    The passenger was just about as shocked as I was. Luckily he hadn't stepped out of the car in the time it took me to hit door otherwise he'd have been crushed between me and the door and that definitely wouldn't have been pretty.

    Getting "the door prize" is one of the scariest things about riding in a city sometimes. I'm glad it didn't go worse for you, @dkambe.

    And I'd have a blast riding through that landscape you showed us!
