Yes (and no) - I was 17th man for Great Britain men's hockey in the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Was on the bench for every game, never made it onto the pitch.

    :/

Not me but my uncle, Jim Ryun for running in 1964, 68 and 72. Pretty cool to hear him talk about it.

    Field Hockey

Ahh that makes much more sense, sorry for the confusion. Not a widely popular sport here in America. Similar to the football/futbol. Seems like it would be a really awesome experience either way though.

    Pretty effin amazing!

You were still there and made it that far . Great going . Not many people can say they were on an olympic squad .

In the 80s I would snowboard on Mount Olympia -- a man made hill from trash and landfill.

Clarence Linden Crabbe II (/ˈkræb/; February 7, 1908 [note 1] – April 23, 1983), commonly known by his stage name Buster Crabbe, was an American competitive swimmer and movie actor. He won the 1932 Olympic gold medal for 400-meter freestyle swimming event before breaking into acting.

He might have met my Nana. She was at that Olympics. :)
