What I told myself everyday to lose 182lbs

Everyday I told myself before walking and running that there was a healthier, happier, stronger version of myself just out in front and I needed to catch him if I ever wanted to become him.
The other side of the coin was also telling myself that there was a less healthy, less happy, weaker, version of myself right behind me, and he was just one skipped workout, one cheat meal away from catching me.
Best of luck everyone and if you have anything similar that you say to yourself please share.

Well done! The mental acrobatics that one has to perform during all of this is interesting.
Sayings that I have read on here (myfitnesspal), that actually have put things in perspective, are..
"If you had a flat tyre, would you go slash the other 3?" - Not only does it provide the funny, it's preposterous, and genuinely helps to minimize any damages when the thought is activated. A good one to have in your arsenal.
and,
"You may as well keep trying because the time will pass anyway" - This saying can easily apply to one's entire life. Very powerful phrase.11 -
Love these so much! Perspective is everything! What you have said resonates with me and will help motivate me to make better choices. Thank you both for sharing!2

I still tell myself every day, "I've eaten enough food. I'm done eating for the day."
There used to be a thread here about making a U Turn. The tire line above reminds me of it.
If you made a wrong turn in the middle of the country, would you keep driving until you reach an ocean, 2000 miles away? No, you'd turn around and get back on the right road.7 -
How do you eat an elephant...........One bite at a time. This always works for me whenever I come up against something that seems insurmountable2

Mine is "no excuses." It's too easy to say "I'm too tired to work out" or "I had a stressful day, I deserve to lie around on the couch eating junk food" - you can always come up with an excuse not to stay on track. Don't let yourself get away with it!3
