So today is my first day of my intense diet. I'm 200 pounds, and I'm only 5'4. I decided last night I no longer wanted to be fat. My daily intake is usually 2,000-3,000. I never count I just eat. From the time I wake up too the time I go too sleep. Well today all I've had is 2 scrambled egg whites, 1 100% whole wheat toast, and 1 cup of strawberries. I feel so weak, and I'm so dizzy. And my head is hurting so bad. Is this normal??
This was just a sudden diet, cold turkey. So I'm thinking its normal, but at the same time I'm not sure??

If what you've said is accurate you have not eaten nearly enough for your body to carry out normal day-to-day functions which is why you are experiencing these symptoms. In other words, this is not a normal reaction and you will make yourself very ill continuing like this.

I highly recommend you input your details into MFP, and it will suggest a calorie count for you, (at your weight you can safely aim for 2lbs per week). Try to eat as close to this calorie count as you can in order to lose weight at a safe level, so I would suggest you log everything you eat as honestly and accurately as you can. Even if you don't want to do this permanently it may be worth doing for a couple of weeks, until you get familiar with portion sizes and calorie counts of your usual/favourite/common foods.

p.s. If you previously ate lots of sugar and/or caffeine and cut these out you may experience headaches for up to a week which are basically withdrawal symptoms. However, being weak, light-headed and/or dizzy is usually an indicator that something is not right.

I would feel light-headed too if that's all I'd eaten today. I don't know what time it is for you, but that's not a lot of food for the day. How low are you trying to keep your calories?

Did you see your doctor before such a drastic change? Like could you be diabetic? That is just one question that needs answered before you decide to totally change your lifestyle. But I congratulate you on your desire to change. And good luck.
