So surfing around the interwebs I found two studies in regards to HIIT.

One of them from the NCBI [National Center for Biotechnology Information], and one from Science Daily.

The report from the NCBI basically states that doing excessive HIIT style work outs can lead to atrial fibrillation, or even developing an irregular heartbeat. (Source)

And the study from Science Daily states that those who practice excessive HIIT style work outs care subject to Stroke and Heart Attacks. (Source)

So looks like days of steady cardio are warranted, instead of Interval training every time we go out.

    "CONCLUSIONS:
Leisure-time exercise at younger age is associated with an increased risk of AF, whereas walking/bicycling at older age is associated with a decreased risk.

Well that's good news for MAMILs like me.
