Cheat days

Please help, is cheat day effective or not? Whenever I have a cheat day/meal I always go to a eat all you can resto and eat over 8000 calories a day, will I gain weight if I continue it? I do cheat days every sunday, please help

    This is not a habit that will move you in the direction you wish to go...

    I feel you can more effective cheat days. If I deny myself some of my fav things I dont stick to ot. So on your cheat day have something that you really crave and something that you will enjoy rather than just lots of everything, but still keep some level of moderation into account - be mindful. For example if you want pizza eat it. but have say a leggera pizza from pizza express (a ring of pizza with salad in the middle which is 500 calories) If I want chocolate I will have organic over 70% and I have x2 pieces with strawberrys or cherrys rather than a whole bar. I personally had a slip up today so I am not sure I am the best to give advice lol. But I know I have to brush myself off and keep going rather than beating myself up and going on a down ward spiral. But the more mindful I am and the more I keep going, means that my cheat day are less and less, and are becoming more and more in moderation and healthier. It also means I work out harder lol. But it will mean your progress will be at a more moderate pace. But that is OK, just keep at it. Also try looking into mindful eating, and practice some of the techniques.

    Yeah, those 8000 calories are undoing a lot of your hard work from the rest of the week. I don't do cheat days, they completely throw me off track, but if you want to keep your cheat day, you could limit yourself to something like 2000 calories (depending on what your normal daily intake is).
