Calories

Sorry if this sounds dumb. I am wondering after you lose a certain amount will your calories be recalculated automatically or do you have to do it manually? And also if you wanted to be 130 pounds would you eat 1300 calories/ day? How does that work?

When you update your weight, your calories will be recalculated.

Yes 1300 calories is reasonable to reach your goal. You might want to start with: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1296011/calorie-counting-101/p1

I don't think this will happen automatically if you set your calorie goal manually. A good weight loss rate is 1% of your total body weight at any given time.

1300 calories depends on your height, weight, age and activity level. 1300 for some may be too low. if you lose weight input the new weight(most do it every 10-20lbs) into the MFP settings and it will give you your calories.

I just would like to eat my calories that would get me to my goal weight instead of say like 1 week eating 1500 then the next few weeks 1400. In just wondering how successful I can be if I'm just eating my goal weight calories or if it's even possible to do that? Sorry if I sound confusing.

you wont eat 1500 one week and then 1400 the next few. you eat to your calories and you should lose weight, you stay at that amount of calories until you lose say 10 lbs then you can update your weight to get a different calorie goal. it also depends on how much weight you have to lose. if you have less than 25-30 set it to lose.5 lb a week,35-50 1lb a week loss, 51-75 around 1.5lb and anything over 75lbs 2 lbs a week for awhile. you dont want anything too aggressive when it comes to weight loss.weight loss is also not linear so some weeks you will lose, some you may not and others you may gain due to water retention from that time of the month,to excessive salt intake, glycogen stores, increase in exercise, etc. you may not see a loss the first few weeks, but that can be normal. Im not saying it will happen to you but its possible. also get a tape measure and take measurements. sometimes the number on the scale wont show you losing but you may be losing fat(inches).

Eat the same calories to goal weight. Yes, that will work but it will be a slow(er) process.

Google your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure).....or maintenance for the weight you want to be. Eat that number of calories & eventually you will reach goal. But most people aren't going to have that kind of patience.

So if I can get up to 1,000 pounds, I can lose 10 pounds a week? That's awesome. I'm going to start gaining so I can lose really fast.

Fight nice.... You don't have to be rude just saying. o:)

I was just using the 1400/1500 hypothetically. Thanks for your comment though.
