Has anyone used YAYOG? Did you have success with it?

You are your own gym app, been using it for a week, seems great so far!

Bumping for them, excuse my dumbness, is that a god thing?

Been using it for a week and enjoying it. Will see what the first 10 week program brings.

Yes, a good thing. It just puts it on my wall and keeps the thread current. We all have our own preferred methods of strength training.

    There's also nerdfitness.com

    YAYOGer here.

I have increased strength, maintained muscle mass and also lost fat as am in deficit until I reach my goal weight - 20lbs to go I think.

I like YAYOG because I can work in a YAYOG session even while at work and have evenings free for Yoga. I also find bodyweight exercising to be the best way to promote strength in the way I need it for yoga.

I do use a few dumbbell moves to supplement my session or if there is a muscle I need to isolate for strength if it is lagging behind but otherwise I am doing well enough on bodyweight exercising alone.

YAYOG is a great tool. It was VERY helpful in getting me off on my body weight exercise path.

I use the YAYOG app. I'm on week six of the beginner program and will switch to the intermediate program when I'm done. I'm definitely stronger. But I don't weigh myself so I don't know about that. But I enjoy it and I can do it while my kid is in bed and I'm watching tv.

    Hi There!,

I like using YAYOG as I don't stick with going to the gym especially in the winter! Got some good results in the spring then stopped and need to start again.

I made the mistake of over doing it a bit by using a Bullworker and Pull Up bar sessions to force quicker results. Strained my elbow forearm/elbow tendons! Made the usual excuses to myself not to carry on!

So I have now bought myself a Fitbit Flex to encourage myself & monitor my foods and activity.

Going to start YAYOG again and just follow the App on my iPad - I put that on my desk and watch something on YouTube or DVD for entertainment whilst working out.

I love the fact that you can record your progress by saving your workout data.

I improvised my "equipment" as I work out in my garage/study.

    (1) For table pull ups I use a wooden gardening tool handle resting across a couple of collapsible plastic DIY workman's trestle legs ( easy to store away when done).
    (2) For chair dips I use a sturdy low work out bench
    (3) Interlocking exercise matts to protect the carpet

I also recommend getting the YAYOG book on eBay as it helps understand what to do and gives you alternatives to many of the exercises.

I grab a protein shake at work in the afternoon and a recovery shake after my workouts at home. This helps with building a little muscle and lessening the aches and pains the next day!

I live an work in the UK and am in my late 50's but aim to keep youthful (looking) as I don't feel my age. I'm hoping that I can get the hang of FitBit & MyFitness Pal without getting too bogged down in Data inputting (especially the food part)

I look forward to swapping notes and experiences.

    Encouraging regards to you all!
