Okay guys I've done really well for 125 days. Eating in moderation, keeping everything in proportion. Eating pizza occasionally if I want it but keeping it in calorie allowance.

However, today my stomach is like a bottomless pit. I just want to eat everything all the time...any suggestions of what I can do to help my situation today? I've already succumbed to shortbread and sneaking some of the kids crisps.

1 day will not matter if you have done well for 125 days...get back on track tomorrow...

Eat more than usual, but choose something that may help fill you - yoghurt, oats, hard boiled eggs - rather than snacking on what is convenient and to hand. Don't beat yourself up about eating at maintenance for a change. There will also be days when you are not hungry which will balance out today.

Protein and fiber will slow down digestion and help fill the "bottomless pit". Also I've found upping fats with the protein and dropping carbs down a bit helps me feel more satiated.

I empathize..... I too have a monstrous appetite. I can easily out eat people twice my size. I'm now down 80 lbs. I started with the ketogenic diet. Which I'm sure will have some naysayers but really it did 2 things for me. It got that hormonal hunger under control and it reset my sweet tooth. I was never a big sweets eater to begin with though, I just loved my pastas breads and rice. After about 3 solid months of 20 carbs or less I found I couldn't really lose any more weight (approx. 25-35 lbs. off my high) as the calorie count added up too fast and at the end of the day I would often want to go past my caloric limitation, although it wasn't like the hunger I felt before. I slowly added more healthy carbs back into the mix and watched how it affected my hunger. Remember an empty stomach by itself isn't really what causes hunger, it is your hormones that make you "feel" hungry. On occasion I would add something back in that would spike my appetite and it seemed like there was not enough food on the planet to quell it. I would be sure to stay away from it the future. To make a long story short my caloric count went down as I added in more vegetables and even occasional whole fruit which resulted in my weight going down too. The key for me was to keep those hormones in check and while it wasn't easy it did make it easier. I found it wasn't the calories from the cookie that did me in, it was the corresponding appetite increase from eating the cookie that would sabotage me. Hope that helps you.
