Where am I going wrong? Feeling so disheartened!

Over the past 2 and a bit weeks I've started a new diet of (maximum) 1200 calories and day and 25g of fat. I've found it easy to stick to, and I've done this before (used to weigh 17 stone and lost just under 3 stone in about 3 months). However, whilst I started off well, losing about half a stone in the first two weeks, I've noticed that my weight appears to have now plateaued at 13 stone 13lbs, as of last Sunday.

It's now Saturday and I weighed myself and I've put ON a pound, despite the fact I haven't really changed anything in my diet over the last week. I've started taking Orlistat over the last two days (also used this before, was fine) so surely I should be losing if anything? I'm becoming disheartened as it's so early on to have not lost anything and I am religiously counting cals/fat. Anyone have a similar situation?

Why such low fat? Fat is vital for regulating hormones, including those controlling your metabolism. Proteins and fats are important, carbs are the despensable macronutrient if you feel you need to cut one to such a low level.

Its Natural to plateau at some stage. I have been there done that. You have to think positive and keep going. If your using a weight loss powder, it may help if you try eating real food. That is good quality food that your body mind and spirit will enjoy.

I am now doing that and along with whey powder and fish oil capsules I have a lot more energy than what I did before.

Also how much exercise are you doing.

I have tried so many different types of weight loss powders and in my experience all they do is drain your system of fluids.

Just remember the glass is always half full not half empty.

First, if you're going to post about getting help with your calorie allotment/food choices, pretty please open your diary!

If you're not hitting a NET intake of 1200, you need to eat more. However, eating 1200 calories may not be right for your activity level. Here's a handy link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/912920-in-place-of-a-road-map-3-2013 Follow the tutorial and eat more to lose.

Fat does not make you fat. Overeating makes you fat. Fat is essential.

A 1 lb gain sounds like water weight. It's nothing to worry over.

2 weeks does not a plateau make. On a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet), you'll always see newbie losses...and most of the time, the loss stalls. I'm not going to say it's 'starvation mode,' but it does not bode well for weight loss.

Tip: Invest in a digital food scale. Start WEIGHING all of your food. Measuring cups and spoons are not nearly as accurate as you may think.

If you're exercising and you're going by MFP exercise calorie estimates, MFP tends to overestimate the burn. I would cut their numbers in half. However, if you follow the handy link's suggestion, you'll never have to worry over counting the exercise calories again as you will be including them in your daily calorie allotment.

If you ultimately decide that the Roadmap is not for you, change your weight loss goals to a 1 lb loss a week and eat a NET intake of that number (that's INCLUDING exercise calories, or at least half of them). If you would like a more accurate depiction of calories burned, invest in a heart rate monitor.

    Hang in there. Good luck!

ETA (edit to add): Please ditch the Alli. Consuming less than you burn is the ultimate key to weight loss, not crazy fad supplements.

It's a cliché, but a valuable one: You didn't put it on overnight so you're not going to lose it overnight! Aim for a slow, sustainable weight loss.

    THIS!

You've been doing this for TWO weeks, and you think you've "plateaued"?
