Hey MFP, my name is Jacob.
Weight in December 2004: 164
Weight in May 2010: 276
Weight in May of 2011: 228
Weight in October 2015: 298
Weight in May 2016: 292
Weight on August 8th, 2016: 261.
I've made decisions to cut out the beer (as seen in my profile pic), the alcohol and the unhealthy to drop my weight. I've gone from having to take breaks in light hiking to surviving the trek. Instead of splitting pain when I run, I can sprint short distances and my cardio endurance has gone up significantly.
I'm back in the gym 5 days a week, balancing my calories and ignoring fad diets and focusing on calorie counting and nutrition.
If you're looking for someone to listen, provide motivation and actual conversation feel free to contact me or send me a friend request. I know what it's like to be healthy, unhealthy, and very unhealthy. I know what it's like when depression can lead to weight gain and what it's like to gain weight, lose weight, and gain it back. When I fell off the wagon in 2011 I had pretty much accepted that I would always be overweight and convinced I was happy with who I was.
Well, I wasn't. All it took was ending up in a handicap bathroom that had a full length mirror and when I looked at myself, I didn't recognize the person looking back. This wasn't me, and I decided that I wanted who I was on the outside to reflect who I was on the inside.
Your reasons might be different, but this resonates with you and you want a friend in weight loss please feel free to friend me or contact me. We're all going to have tough days when the french toast, ice cream and chocolate sounds like beautiful symphonies and having someone to remind us that the good time now = bad times later is always a good thing.
