Trying so hard to wait for my one week to weigh in. Worth it?

I have been busting my butt working out and eating healthy. I am a 20 year old who played rugby competitively for 8 years. I was in an accident where I got a spinal injury and lost everything, my college scholarship, relationships, friends. I was a lean mean 230 lbs. of muscle then. Now I'm 315 of solid but obviously overweight. I have stopped whining and am working hard on getting back. I keep wanting to get on that scale and see 290! but I know obviously it doesn't work like that. Is it better to wait and see a bigger result all the while risking a let down and potential backslide? Or should I do it every morning so a let down is only a little one. Please let me know. Also add me! I'm dying to meet new friends on here!

It is really personal preference. I weigh daily and log it on Libra which is a weight trending app. So even though my weight goes up or down each day a little bit, I can see that the overall trend has been down. For some people it helps to see the daily fluctuations. Some people get freaked out when their number goes up and so weekly is better for them. For me weighing each day helps me keep on track. And as long as the weight is trending down I know I'm on track. It does take a while though, so if you really want to see big number drops then you might not want to weigh every day.

I weigh myself every day and I know that the scale is going to go up and down each day. I find it interesting to see how what I do or don't do is reflected there on a day to day basis. But that's not for everyone.

It really depends on how much emotional stock you're putting into that number you're going to see because it sounds to me like it's a big deal to you. If that number isn't big enough will your spirit be crushed? Will you give up and let things spiral back out of control? Sounds silly but there are plenty of people like that. Don't forget to grab a tape measure and record your body measurements now, too. Frankly, most of us really aren't looking for that lower number on the scale as much as we want our bodies to be firm and lean. Put equal stock in what the tape measure tells you as well as what you see on the scale.

Firstly I'm sorry to hear about all the misfortunes you've had to endure recently. Good on you for for enduring and not letting it weigh you down and readjusting the navigator in a new direction. Good luck on reaching your goals, reestablishing the relationships that were lost and finding a new way to get into university/college and rugby/sport in general if you seek to.

I use to do it everyday just to look but I've opted to instead do it weekly now instead. You'll have weeks where you lose nothing and have gained a little weight but I can ensure you the very next week you'll log a very significant entry that will reboost your motivations and confidence as long as you continue to do the things that work for you.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
