I never did, only logged deliberate exercise. Now that I have a fitness tracker, I still don't count calories added due to steps when I sync it. Just the calories added by my heart rate monitor, and even then I only eat half back, and thats if I'm hungry

If you are set to sedentary here then of course you can as that would be similar to how my FitBit works only it syncs with mfp itself rather than me having to manually enter it

Steps are steps no matter how you get them imo.

I would suggest you don't eat all the exercise cals back though, but 50-75% of them.

I use stealth. I put in my walks to mfp for calories. I decided based upon my goal steps to increase my activity level from sedentary to lightly active. I think I should increase it to active but am not ready yet.

I have the S-health thing. I usually log anything well over 5000 steps as I have my account set to sedentary.

I only log my actual hikes/significant walks. I changed my setting from sedentary to lightly active when i realized that i was getting almost 10k steps in every day on top of my walks.
