Yep...I swear by the thing. It's so much more efficient than dumbells or barbells.

Hmm, well I was hoping for more feedback when I did my search. I am thinking of buying a Total Gym. OP, what model do you have and what are your thoughts on it so far?

I started working out again after a 5 year hiatus using a total gym. I was ready to move on after about 60 days.

I used one during physical therapy. It's a good tool considering a pt clinic would use but a believe stronger individuals will quickly outgrow it (if they haven't from the start)

If that is you in your profile pic I suspect we have very different goals. :)

What do you think of this as something for a fairly fit 53 yo woman looking to stay fit as she ages?

Yes that is a pic I took of myself back in June and I do think the total gym would be a fantastic piece of equipment for an aging woman to maintain her fitness levels, and as I understand it, there are several different models now of the Total Gym to choose from.

Yes, I'm finding that out. Many models to choose from at various price levels. Money isn't a huge issue but I certainly want to get the best bargain. I guess I have some research to do.

    Thanks for your responses!
