So, in the last 9 weeks i have lost 9.5kg (or about 21 pounds). I feel great and am receiving a heap of complements! I am only a kilo or two from my original goal weight.... but am experiencing some worrying behaviours...

Whilst i notice A change in my appearance.. i dont see the massive change that others do. My mum has started *****ing that i am too skinny, and others have commented "but you dont want to lose anymore do you?".

I dont see myself as too slim and in fact still feel overweight. I am obsessing over weighing food to ensure i get my portion right, and feeling more comfortable eating packaged food - as i know the exact calorie content.

I have had friends with eating disorders, and am concerned about some of my behaviours - but that said, i cant stop them.

Should i be concerned? or am i just overeacting?

Height 176cm or 5'9"
SW 74kg or 163pounds
CW 64kg or 141pounds

BMI says you are normal and healthy.

I am 5'8 and a half, and 140 is my goal. So no, I don't think you have gone too far. It is normal not to see the changes in yourself in the mirror, have you got any old photos you can use to compare, or have you taken any measurements? Sometimes that gives us a better indication.

I guess i am more concerned with some of the behaviour i am seeing. How do you know when to stop? my original GW was 65kg then i revised to 60kg.

i am concerned that when i get there, i wont be happy and will revise to 55kg (which i know would put in the underweight BMI range)..

How do you know what is the right goal weight?

it may not be about the "right goal weight"... you may need ot change your body composition. for me i am 5.2 ft and my goal was just to get back to 125, 120 if i could. i started at 142. once i got to 125, i knew 120 was where i needed to be. BUT once i got to 120 i still didn't like how i looked, so i dropped it to 115. I still haven't been able to reach that goal and i have been at this for just over a year and a half now. So i decided to start strength training instead of cardio to change my body composition instead. i knew that going to 110 wasn't for me and i probably still wouldn't like how i looked anyway.. so i just finished my 3rd month of strength and i do see a change already. so hopefully a few more months of that, i will finally be where i want to be " look wise" and not focused on the scale weight.

I also found it took a long time to get my head wrapped around with how i looked, want to look and how to get there and what i had accomplished alredy

I think your weight/height proportions are ideal and you don't need to loose more.

that was me too. i figured i was always 115-120 max up till my late 20's. so i figured if i dropped to that i woudl look like i did back then, but i have had a kid since then plus i am late 30's now :( so i had to change my thinking to body composition, not weight and work on definition... which i never had back then :)
