HR's and MFP

This question very well may have been addressed, but I cannot locate anything (most likely not using the right search term), so If anyone knows where to find the answer just let me know.

I recently purchased a Vivofit HR and am not sure how it and MFP work together. Everything is paired/synced and MFP is recording what the HR says.....my problem is how to set them up to work as a team.

MFP says I need 1440 calories per day to lose 2 lbs (Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity)
HR Activity level set to exercise/training 2-3 times per week (45 minutes to 3 hours)
HR shows that I burned over 3000 for the day and added it to my exercise data on MFP.

I know darned well that I don't have over 3000 calories left for the day or I wouldn't even need to be here -- Can someone explain how to fix this?

HR monitors are more suited for calculating training zones than calories burned.

No more comments needed, I finally found the group I was looking for with the answers I needed.

Can u tell me where you found your answer?. Mine says I walked 12000 steps today and is giving me 6000 extra calories for today?! I believe it has to do with the active calories per week setting.

I would have answered sooner, but they don't give notifications when someone makes a comment. Basically my problem was I used the hr for all day and not just for exercise, so it gave me 3817 above what my TDEE was, because it assumed I was exercising all that time.

My understanding was that you could use the heart rate monitor to figure out your daily calorie burn, but apparently I was mistaken and you use the HR part for just when you exercise.

If you didn't get those results from using the HR then I don't know what the problem is
