logging strength training exercises

What am I doing wrong?

I go to the gym & do these weight training exercises under the watchful eye of my trainer: 3 sets of 10-15 reps at a certain weight.

Most of the time, even when I used the machines, the exercise isn't in the data base. When I can find the exercise listed, MFP asks me my weight & the amount of time I did the exercise. That makes no sense. Aren't sets, reps & the amount of weight the important factors in strength / weight training?

Because I couldn't log all that work, when I finish my food diary today MFP is going to say I was over my calorie allotment, but I I feel like I really shouldn't be. I'm only at 1200 calories so eating my exercise calories back is important.

Look under the cardio exercises for strength training that allocates calories.. The Strength training exercises listed in the database here do not calculate caloric burn. They are more to track your progress in reps & weight lifted.

Lifting doesn't burn a ton of calories at that point in time.
