Hello,
I just want to know what is the point of drinking green tea to lose weight?
like, how does it work?
and Is it true that drinking it after a meal that contained fats won't make our bodies absorb those fats and so on?
thanks in advance ^_^

It's not...it tastes good (I like it iced) and has some good antioxidants in it...but it doesn't have magical weight loss properties.
Also, you don't absorb dietary fat...that's not the way the body works. You store fat when over consume energy (calories).1 -
The only way I can see it being helpful is if it keeps you from drinking something more calorie-heavy. Other than that, it won't do anything for weight loss.0

Green tea does not help people lose weight. It's a myth that doesn't seem to go away. The only way to lose weight is by eating less than your body burns. There is no magic tea, shake or pill.0

No, the tea itself doesn't help weight loss. As for the bolded: there's a pill that does that, and if that was what the tea was doing, sister, you'd know it1 -
I don't think it does. You usually hear about it, where someone says they started drinking it and they lost weight, but this can usually be explained by something else. Examples of such would be they replaced soda with the tea, or they made other dietary changes at the same time.0

It doesn't make you lose weight and I think it tastes nasty.2

Drink green tea if you enjoy it. It has as much influence over weight loss as plain water. Green tea has a little caffeine in it which will keep your metabolism humming but coffee has more.0

I have artificially-sweetened green tea sometimes. I have artificially-sweetened lemonade sometimes, too, and for the same reason.
It's a flavored drink that doesn't add calories.
There's nothing wrong with it. It's just not magic.0
