Total or Net calories

Apologies if this has been asked before but is it better to look at the total calories on a weekly basis or Net calories- still don't really understand it all !

    Net. Mfp does not take exercise into account when it gives you your goal so you should be eating back at least a portion of your exercise calories. So if you used mfp for your goal you should look at net calories. If you used a TDEE calculator then look at total calories.
