Cardio or weightlifting or maybe both?

Ive been going to the gym for about 2 & half weeks now. My body is moderately lean but my stomatch has a gut. Can i make strength gains while simultaneously cuting off the gut/fat? Or should i choose between doing either cardio or weightlifting?

Great post! I couldn't see the TDEE link though. Im currently eating about 1500 cals a day maybe 1600 from my usual 2000 plus. Should i continue that or go back to my 2000 cal diet @queenliz990

I've always wondered this. I have really just been walking on a treadmill. Wanted to lose some fat/weight before starting on weights. I wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do.1
