I keep asking myself deep inside me every single day ..the purpose of our existence , till now I dont have an answer for that.Life and death are one of the most intriguing things on this earth for me....not sure about the reason LOL.

Wondering if anyone of you have an answer for the purpose of existence or keep looking for that or its just stupid me lol.

Stay strong.

Yeah I'm definitely the wrong for this question

    But you sound like me

I've yet to find a point but I think doing good for the poor and environment are good things

    Maybe you should do that?

It'll be over for the current generation but a part of us, is left behind when we breed; for future generations. So we only truly die when our DNA, isn't passed on anymore; whether it be via breeding, donating blood and/or our organs. Our world isn't large enough & there aren't enough resources, for us & previous generations, to continue to co-inhabit our plant indefinitely; with future generations.

The purpose is to enlighten ourselves and others. To learn and become more . To keep moving forward , breaking through barriers , reach the stars , and to enjoy the ride on this tiny blue planet flying through space .

I do ask myself this question from time to time, it usually throws up more questions than answers but I think it's healthy to wonder why we're here just like it's healthy to question things, to look for answers otherwise your just walking around mindlessly.

It differs drastically from person to person but I think we are here to learn. Learn about the world in all its wonder, learn about ourselves and other people, to experience the joy of living and overcoming the sad moments. Life is constantly shifting and changing and there is ALWAYS something new to learn and more questions to ask so I say enjoy the ride best you can, stay healthy and try to stay as positive as you can.

I'm not going to pretend I know the reason for exsistance but one thing is for sure your only here, alive and with the capacity to learn once so I intend to make the most of it. There has been sometimes I would rather not be here but then other times I think I'm so glad and happy to have this chance to be alive and walk the earth cos I know one day I definitely won't have that so maybe the point of our exsistance is simply to make the most of it and try keep a positive mindset. I dunno

Purpose might be self-defined I suppose. My purpose for "being here" changed drastically upon the birth of my kids; unless having those kids was the purpose?

Today my 'purpose' for living generally revolves around connecting with others and spreading good karma.

We're all here to contribute to society, I guess, lol. That's why everyone has different strengths/weaknesses. I don't think there's an actual reason for our existence though....I mean, we're here and ever evolving, it's more science than anything, imo.

There is no generic purpose, for each of us it is different, People are born leaders, people are born to follow. YOUR purpose is to become comfortable with your choices, and to seize opportunities as they arise. Some people are born parents, some are born teachers, I was 19 or so when I realized that the world needed ditch diggers as much as they needed Doctors and scholars, I made up my mind at that point to be the best ditch digger I could possibly be and see where that would lead me. Since then, MY purpose in life has been to learn, teach, share, give, accept.

Fact is it is your life, and NO one sees the world through your eyes... whether you CHOOSE to see it for it's beauty or it's detriment, will guide you to YOUR purpose.

Live long and prosper, may the force be with you, etc...etc.

My take on this; I don't think there is one.
I used to think like this a few years ago and it wasn't a good place to be in at the time.
I asked myself so many questions and i was so confused.. One question leads to another.. gah.
I came to the conclusion that there was no point in life and i stopped trying to look for answers. I'm much happier for it.
Why does life have to have a meaning?? We have this life, by chance I think, and you can either enjoy it, live it the very best you can or wallow in unhappiness, searching for answers that either don't exist or don't matter. Yeah we all die and it's coming faster than we think.
Depressing?? I don't think so. It just makes me want to make the most of the time I have here and im determined to enjoy it the very best I can.
Stop trying to work out life and start living it. It's beautiful when you stop taking it all so seriously. :)

    IF you're American. Our purpose.

    1) Be Born [into debt]
    2) Buy Stuff & Pay Taxes
    3) Retire & pay taxes out of your retirement
    4) Die & give the majority of your stuff to the Government so the sell it and use the profits.

The chief end of man is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever according to the Westminster Shorter Catechism. That doesn't mean that he wants me to go to snake filled India and heal lepers. That means that I avoided the don'ts so that I could do the dos and learned that my gift is teaching. I superintend schools and direct training. My supervisor and my co workers sit in my trainings sometimes and ask "How does she do that?" I do it through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, because I sat and learned at the feet of masters, and because it is my gift. Like most anyone, I have about 9 things I do well. Everything else, not so much.

There's no real purpose. Just enjoy your time and be a decent person.

Maybe the purpose is to make your own purpose. For a fulfilling life, it only has to be fulfilling for you.

Here is a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American poet, essayist and philosopher, when asked about success:

"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of ones self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded."

The easiest way to tackle this question for yourself is to start by building an elementary knowledge of philosophical theories and a basic philosophical vocabulary. From there you will be able to frame your thoughts differently and things you only had a vague hint or intuition of will start making sense and become more concrete. Then you can figure out what makes the most sense to you. But as none of the great philosophers could come to agreement and this question is still being debated today in universities and philosophical conferences across the globe, I personally just choose to be a good person and hope things will work out. Somehow. Lol.
