Activity level question

So initially I choose not very active as my activity level. But I've started working out. At what point do I or should I change it? I changed it to lightly active to see what it would do and it added 300 calories to my daily target. Should I go ahead and leave it at lightly active and eat the extra calories or stay at not very active, still workout some, and stay with the calorie target I have?

If any of that makes sense lol

Activity level is for your overall general daily activity excluding exercise. Exercise is entered separately.

As for your calorie goal, that really depends. My suggestion is that you use a goal that has you lose no more than 1% of your body weight per week on average. Weight loss isn't linear so you need to look at the trend rather than a particular day or week.

Record things for a couple months and see how you are doing. The calories given by all calculators are estimates based on the general population. The best way to determine your own numbers is to record your personal numbers and then adjust based upon your real-world results.

be honest. I had a little trouble in that area because I feel that compared to those around me that I'm pretty active but when I read the descriptions it seems I'm lightly active. it dropped my calories by a few hundred. i started thinking about that and i wondered if my weight loss has been slowed because i had my incorrect activity level.
