So... Yesterday was a win.. and a loss.

I have been trying on a new shoe... so to speak.
Many MANY time have I tried to lose weight and while I was successful at time it never stayed off. (Woe)
I have a bad habit of all or nothing thinking and every single time I have failed due to the all or nothing. The other contributor to my failures (In the PAST NOT the future!!) was emotional eating at night.
I have begun to explore loving myself (such a cliche.. but an important one!) Every morning I look in the mirror and make an effort to SEE positive instead of negative... I also smile, a real genuine smile at myself and tell myself that *I* am an awesome person! (sounds corny and you feel weird and stupid at first, but truly you do end up faking it til you make it)
Anyhow, I digress. Yesterday I did have a successful day but ended up limiting my calories to too few in the afternoon and so I was starving by the time dinner rolled around. As a result.. I ended up eating a big bowl of cereal and toast after 9 PM.
Moral of the story.. in my case.. limiting calories in the day results in the craving for a binge that night.
Today is a NEW day!

You can do it It takes some time to figure out what will work for you. I always get hungry at night and have found that if I intentionally save about 200 calories I can snack guilt free I'm going to send you a friend request if thats ok!0

If you're snacking everyday, then I would consider that a bit of a loss ... and one that might need you readjusting your eating throughout the day so you feel full. But 1 day does not make it a complete fail. It was what it was. Try not to repeat it, but don't beat yourself up about it.
Also, about the trying to love yourself bit. A co-worker and I were talking the other day and she said that her thighs were getting huge. I rolled my eyes because she's super fit, but then felt bad because even the fittest of us can feel crappy about their bodies. We agreed that saying negative things about our own bodies is not ok! If anyone else had walked up to her and told her that her thighs where getting huge, she probably would've slapped them, so why is it ok for us to talk to ourselves the same way? The moral of that little story: we're both going to try to not think or say negative things about our bodies (bad hair days notwithstanding!). Just one more way to love yourself.
PS: I'm totally an all or nothing kind of girl, so I get your weight loss struggles. But keep it up! (And I will too!)0 -
