I lost 66 pounds a couple years ago, put it back on after crushing a disk in my neck left me in bed for months in severe pain. I have since had a baby and am just looking to get that motivation I once had back! Any suggestions?

I wish there was a way to get motivated. I waited until I gained back all my weight and still didn't have much motivation. Finally, I changed the way I ate. I did alot of research and picked the healthiest way to eat for me. I kept reading articles talking to people on the forums and that's what got me serious again.0

Get enough sleep, and do your healthy routine before you feel motivated to do it. Exercising makes me want to exercise. Sitting makes me want to stay seated. It works the same way with eating habits.2

Motivation comes from within. No one can give you motivation you have to find it for yourself. You can, however, be inspired by others' motivation. Look at the success stories in these forums, make a list of the reasons you want to lose/maintain your weight and refer to it when you feel yourself slipping. Many here will tell you that rather than needing motivation, you need commitment and dedication. When motivation wears down, commitment and dedication will often take over and get you through the tough times.0

The short answer is to just do... then the feeling will come. If you're looking to have that feeling first, it may never come on it's own. You will feel how you act, not the other way around. Start with the small victories... then work your way up to conquering Everest.
You have a whole host of reasons to do it: for your health, your child, to live forever, to just generally feel great about yourself, etc.1 -
