What do you plan to do with it? What are you trying to achieve?

Adding weight while running will burn some extra calories, however, it is unnecessarily harder on your joints. You can easily up the calories burned in running by adding intensity. You can run faster, run hills, run speed intervals, etc. Or you can run longer.

To add resistance while running, just and more distance and/or go faster. Starting off? Well I don't suggest you add any weight at all and how far can you run already without stopping? Is distance difficult to find?

10% of body weight. I'd use vest for daily walks (easier on your joints) and keep on running without it.
