Eating at night/back to daily weighing

Ok, kind of a mixed post here. I know technically it shouldn't matter what time of day you eat, but I have managed to lose the 3.5 lbs I put on from vacation by eating normally during the day, a very small dinner, and nothing afterwards. I think my downfall was eating a skinny cow at night plus a few other "tastes" of light ice cream. I am now back to weighing daily, and able to go to bed hungry. I now look forward to weighing in the am, because my weight is going down.
I had been weighing weekly before and allowing myself some treats after dinner, but clearly that was not working for me. In the past, when I was trying to drop a few pounds, ( I am at a normal weight), the only way I was able to do so was to cut out the eating after dinner. Anyone else?

The only reason you seen your weight go up do to eating at any time of the day is do to the fact you had created a calorie surplus... Meal Frequency has absolutely no bearing on weight loss, I take a 500+ calorie snack to bed every night and it has not once hindered my weight loss as long as I was in a deficit for that week... Watch your calorie tracking...... Best of Luck0

Glad you are having similar success. I can't skip dinner though- I just keep it pretty small with protein and veggies. I can't to go bed ravenous, but can go to bed slightly hungry. Plus I work out often first thing on an empty stomach in the am. So I need some fuel in me from the night before.0 -
If you eat nothing from a light supper until after you weigh in the morning you're only weighing less because you have less waste in your system. Going to be hungry has no advantage to weight loss. You can eat 1500 calories once a day, 500 calories 3 times a day or 250 calories 6 times a day. All works out to the same thing in the long run.
The problem people have with eating in the evening is they tend to start snacking and keep snacking. If you leave yourself the budget for a Skinny Cow before bed then it makes no difference at all to your weight loss.0 -
