Upside-down crunches?

I have been really tight across my shoulders and chest, so I've been doing some exercises to build strength, but I also did a stretch I really liked. I lay back across my bed with my arms over my head and sort of reached up-and-back toward the floor. I wondered iff it would be okay to do crunches like this - not pulling all the way up, but just from that stretched position to a little more than upright.
