MFP logging exercise wrong

OK, i may have to go to Tech help for this but i thought i'd give this a try first. whenever i go out running on a c210k day MFP always logs my exercise at Running (jogging) in place. this really bugs me cos, hello, running 25 minutes at the moment and i sure as heck ain't doing that in one place. does anyone know how i can log it properly without messing things up? I've tried to delete and manually log but then it doubles up on my calories earned and i just end up confused lol. help.

MFP doesn't auto log unless you have it linked to some tracker or app. Where is the data coming from?0

Aah, i use a fitbit. so it's their fault, again. thanks, i'll go check my settings on my app. love this site, there's always someone with a little bit more info than you. brill.1

Go to your fit bit dash board. Click on the run it logged as in place.
Top left hand corner click activities list. Scroll down and you will see a long list of all your activity. At the end of each line is a recycle bin. Click on that and it will delete the posting. Then manually add your run by scrolling further down the page on left and choose log activities. You can then add it as a run and put in the correct calorie burn and minutes etc.1 -
Yes Fitbit says I am outdoor cycling when I am mowing the lawn.0

i've done that a few times, but MFP then logs it twice and gives me double calories for it. 1 it makes it look like i'm a running godess (i wish) and 2 if i dont notice it i go way over my calories for the day.0 -
For the money I paid for the fit bit I am very disappointed with it. Luckily I was able to sell it and purchased a Vivoactive it is more accurate and if you like to run or bike it is awesome!0

MFP calls my Garmin synced workouts some peculiar things but does it matter? As long as the calorie data is correct?0

I guess not, it just bugs me i suppose. from not being able to run the length of my driveway to running for 25 minutes is a big thing for me and the narcissist in me wanted to shout about it.0 -

As a new runner I'd suggest getting one of the various GPS apps; Endomondo, Strava, Runkeeper to track your running. Having GPS data is far more useful than just step data.0
