I broke a nail on a door because of that very same reason. Fricken push not pull. LOL

I know the hinge and frame give clues, but I still mix it up all the time.

I like the doors that are always "push". Good ol' swinging doors that push both directions. All doors should be push only. For fire safety, clearly, and not because I keep walking into the glass doors at work.

I walk into sliding glass doors all the time. They should be automatic opening.

Revolting doors are the worst. Both the ones with lots of room that you can't touch, because I always end up behind some idiot who keeps trying to push it, and the single-person ones. Years ago a friend of mine was going into the Sears Tower (the office part) and this Japanese woman in the wrong spot (she was looking for the sky deck) got into the same section of one of the single-person ones but her purse got stuck and they had to back up slowly to get it free. My friend was freaked out since she doesn't like being all close to people anyway and once they got out yelled at the woman "we don't do that in America!" and then felt horrible and guilty and like an ugly American (so she went and posted on the "No offense, but why do Americans only like vegetables with cheese on them" thread).

Just kidding about the last bit.

I too find revolting doors utterly repulsive.

My busy office building has revolving doors. It's fun watching some people try to get in one like they're playing double-dutch...

...except when they're right in front of me and then I have to resist the urge to give them a helpful shove.

Where I worked before had one of these. If I could I would've grabbed some popcorn and watched the madness.

Dude, you need to put a motor with a remote control on that bad boy. Right as someone's about to walk through, flip the switch so the door moves toward him/her.

Oh, and record it for Mary.

Airports with the revolting door, where the space is big enough for the person and their luggage cart, and move slow enough to be a turtle frozen in molasses.

Yes. I've missed the revolving door madness since where I am now doesn't have one

Nevermind my earlier recommendation. nutmegoreo's is better.

How the F did that happen? It appears the panes closed in on themselves. Was this an episode of Punk'd, or something?

I like your idea too! I was just checking to see if we could find a preview.

It looks like three of the panes came in at once, but I'm not sure why. You would think they are more secure than that. Unless like you said, they were tampered with for a goof.

@Sued0nim maybe she realized the guy on the other side of the door is a zombie, right at the last minute as the door was opening again? I'm guessing the sensor was on the inside and she was trying to go through it the wrong way.

I seem to recall that's actually a safety feature of a good revolving door; if there's an emergency evacuation and it's forced, instead of trapping people the glass gives way allowing escape.

my company built a new headquarters and there is a secured revolving door. You beep your badge on a sensor, then must walk through a revolving door. They actually had to post "door training" videos.

(we also had "chair training" after we got new office chairs). yikes

Were they really complex chairs? I'm not sure why your company seems to assume its employees are not so bright.
