Question for those who train martial arts?

I am going to start training Jui Jitsu 5X a week. I've done some before very infrequently and I am usually exhausted for the 2+ hours in training. I was wondering for those who practice a martial art do you include weight lifting into your routine? If so how? on off days? I feel like I would be too exhausted to even think about it. thanks

Well I've been doing martial arts for many many years...
I did Insanity,P90X and Body Beast while i was doing Martial arts twice a week.

It all depends of how you feel.... Your body will tell you.

I'm doing Focus T25 at the moment .. With my martial arts (hapkido). And I do once or twice a week of Weights.

Try to do what you can.... Martial arts is amazing for cardio but weights is a different thing. Go slow but if you feel you can do it...Do it. It will come easier with time. It would sure be easier to do weights on the days that you don't do martial arts....

    It's like when you're sore...after a while, you ain't sore anymore...

    Good luck

This is a great website that should answer a lot of questions.

If you're doing BJJ it will help to incorporate a strength and power training routine as well provided that you're both eating and resting enough to adequately recover. I usually do a three day a week weight lifting (M,W,F) and three day a week martial arts (T,Th, Sat).
