Hi fellows, I'm 146.5 lbs right now with 5.2 inches ... my goal is 110 lbs... I get demotivated very quickly and leave my plan in the middle always but since recently I joined MFP and after reading success stories I'm very inspired and wanna give a kick start ... can I lose 36 lbs before 31st December... Will it be a realistic goal? Because I don't wanna get demotivated again so I wanna keep realistic goal and how many pounds should I lose with 1200 kcal diet plan and 30 minutes walk and 30 minutes yoga within a week? Your support and response will be of high value. Thanks

It isn't realistic, sorry. You're only about ten pounds away from a normal BMI, so a slower rate of loss in that time frame (a pound a week) will be better for your body, health and nutrition-wise.4

It's an achievable goal, I've done it before but you have to be consistent. I'm currently dieting now and hoping to lose 45lb in 12 weeks so you're more than welcome to add me for some extra support.1

Hi, I agree with Malibu927. 110 lbs is quite thin - towards the low range of healthy weight for your height. Regardless of what you have read, 1 lb a week is great and better for you. Maybe if you want to stretch a bit, 20 lbs would be doable.1

Probably unrealistic. I'm 5" and at 120 I look ridiculously skinny and unhealthy.1
-
Sure it is. Good luck1

I have to agree with Malibu927 as well. It's probably not what you want to hear, but although it's quite possible to lose that amount of weight in that time frame, the chances that you'll gain it back quite quickly afterwards are pretty high. Losing it at a slower rate more gradually will give you better long term success. Good luck with whatever you do and keep up with MFP - it's always nice having someone else in the same boat!1

Nope, a goal to lose 16.3 kilos in 132 days means a daily calorie deficit of 864. Your calorie need to maintain current weight, is around 1950, which would mean you'd have to eat no more than 1000-1100 calories per day, and a loss of more muscles and less fat. Don't try to do that. You'd feel miserable.
Instead, lose in a realistic pace and work on your attitude. Weight loss is a slow process. You need to the right things and do them for a long time. Your goal weight is low and you will need to be very patient to reach that and stay there. You can expect to lose 1/2 - 3/4 pounds per week in the beginning, and slower as you get lighter. If you get demotivated quickly, kick starts will not work for you (it doesn't work for anybody anyway).
You may want to increase activity to burn additional calories.0 -
Is it necessary? I dont know, but is very doable in my opinion. Thats about 2 pounds a week. I have been averaging 3 pounds a week since January of this year. I do low carb hi fat. check out dietdoctor.com if you think you might be interested in that. I say go for it you can always readjust your goal if you change your mind

With Halloween, Thanksgiving AND Christmas in that mix??.....hahahahah, I wish you lots of luck, because I sure the hell couldn't!0

I lost 109 pounds from June of 2014 to June of 2015.
27.25 pounds per quarter, 6.8 pounds per months. You have about 4 months left to do it. At the same rate i lost might weight you'd lose about 28 pounds.......
I wish you all the luck in the world. But I do not see it being possible.1 -
Nope sorry.
It's better to not have a time frame anyway. Just lose what you can; this is a lifestyle change, not just some date on the calendar so you can wear a cute dress.2 -

Dude, that's nearly 4 lbs a week. Sorry, but that's a really stupid goal.0 -

no..its too fast, and unhealthy. try losing 1 - 1.5 lbs a week. you don't really need to lose it THAT fast anyway.1

I'm curious if you want to lose that much weight and *keep it off*. If you want to reduce and then maintain your lower weight, then I'd definitely side with the posters recommending a slower loss.
Either way, best of luck!1 -
If you had a lot of weight to do then it would be doable. But since your light and close to your goal being realistic then I would say no. I would aim for something smaller, maybe 15lbs?0
