Help...I lost control!

Haven't been on here in over 3 month. Life changes so fast. We rescued another dog who is sick and had to move quick in order to keep her! Now we moved from TN to FL. We love it here, we love that we can give our dogs a better life and the new doggy a chance to survive and a 2nd chance for life. But as great as it sounds....I total lost track and even if I didn't weigh in yet I know it's gonna be devastating as soon as I will step on the scale. I guess I put on a lot of weight. I hate every picture that my family took of me during the last few weeks. I really need help! My mom is visiting but I know after she is back at home (22nd of July) I need to get back on track. Gosh do I feel guilty and full of shame. I know we did good in all we did but I hate the mirror and fear the scale! I'm jealous of how much weight most of you lost but also proud of you all! It is motivating and I hope some will be able to help me get back where I'm supposed to be!

I hate when that happens. I'm just now getting back on track after life happening here as well. I gained back nearly 20 pounds ( give or take ) after losing 40 on jenny craig. I was so motivated throughout the diet but in the past few months , I fell apart. It' s so hard getting the mindset back that is necessary to get re-motivated....but..I think I finally got it back. feel free to message me anytime. Add me if you like. I am not the best communicator in the world but i'm always willing to listen and help encourage whenever I can. Sounds like you already have a plan to get started again. That's definitely a good thing. Feeling guilty is a useless waste of time and energy, it gets you nowhere and helps you to continue to spiral downward. Give yourself credit for all the hard work you've done in the past and know you will soon be there again.0

Ok, so I'm a little confused...how is the addition of a new pet really affecting your weight loss? Having one more animal magically makes you unable to count calories or make sensible dinner choices? I don't understand...
But let's just say you really COULDN'T log in even once every day to track your food, for argument's sake. If you continue to choose spending your time and efforts on animals over yourself, you're going to have bad health. It's great you care about dogs...or whatever, but what about you?
Since when did some random animal get priority over a human? Ok, so the dog got a "second chance at life", where is yours? If this animal is really sucking up so much of your time that you are legitimately incapable of looking after your own health first, then
a.) your priorities could use some straightening
b.) that dog would be better off in a home who has better time to dedicate to it's rehabilitation.
Remember to take time for yourself; if you love your dogs, make sure they always have a happy and healthy caretaker to look after them.0 -

A lot of judgement for not knowing the whole situation. If you would have been reading right you would have been understanding that it's not the additional dog, it is the fact that life sometimes changes in a moment and you need to change priorities and rebuild or even start a new life!
Moving within a few weeks and as a caregiver for a disabled veteran is not the easiest but I don't ask you to understand.
Some people care more about other humans and pets than for themselves. That's what makes each of us who we are.....our priorities in life, the goals we accomplish and the ones we fail.
I also didn't say I couldn't have been taken better care of eating habits, I could have but I didn't. I lost control of it because there are things more important to me in moments like this. And that's ok.
And sometimes you don't do what you should or can not take the time for workouts even if you want to. Don't try to tell me "if you really want to you can".....in my case it would mean to fail what's most important to me..... my injured veteran husband who needs care. Other people have other reasons but it basically doesn't matter..... not everybody can be as perfect as you.
If you think a set back of 3 month regarding gym and eating habits is a failure of life.....then I can't help you.
I come here for support and I know many others do because we all makes mistakes. Most of us if not even all on here made mistakes regarding eating habits and lifestyle otherwise we would't be on here. We are not here to get a lesson about how we should live our life or what our priorities should be. We want to share our issues regarding weight, knowing we are not alone, share what works for us or not.0 -
I understand what you feel. Yes I'm young, but I understand that life gets in the way. I'm not judging but all you need is water really and everything else follows. I switched to water only and of course low-fat/skim milk for the vitamins. But in less than 8 months I lost 30 pounds. No exercise. Eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Water helps with the hunger and the cravings for fattening food. With at least 3 water bottles a day, you can feel better and your body will show it. But don't stress on weight, focus on being healthy in the little ways. Walks and stuff. Dont worry your life away. Things will come naturally.0

I've fallen off the wagon more times than I can count, but trying to take a better-more balanced approach. Maybe changing one habit at a time will stick longer. It's hard, life happens, we will fall, but just have to get back up more times than we fall. Keep going!0

I have spent too much of my own life losing control of my eating and fitness because I let others' needs come first--kids, husband, work, and yes, rescue dogs. You need to do what you need to do, and only you can set the priorities for your life. That's fine, but as long as these other things are going to come first, they are going to end up controlling your weight and health, as they did mine. For me, in retrospect, those I love would have been better off had I placed a higher priority on my own health and well-being..
Part of this weight-loss journey has been spent dealing with that very part of my life. More than one person on MFP has written about how this isn't just a physical journey, but one of mind and attitude as well. That's certainly what it's like for me.0
