Pull ups every day?

I am currently training for a show in 9 months. I workout 6 days a week and eat on a regimented program. Would it be detrimental to do a few pull-ups every day?
Example:
4 sets 8 pull-ups / various grips each morning - would just be enough to get blood flow to the muscle, not enough to fatigue
Let me know your thoughts and or experiences
Thanks!

Do you believe that would come under the definition of "rest day"?0

No harm - just rest when your body calls out for it0

It's not whether it causes harm, it's whether it maximises his development pre show. Rest days are part of an appropriate training regimen. I would have thought that targeted resistance work may be best to be avoided on rest day, but OP knows his body0

Unfortunately my coach doesn't have me on rest days haha
7 days of moderate weight and high volume
I would use the pull ups as a warm up for most days
Could even do them assisted to negate some possible overtraining of the arms?0 -

your coach is a tool

The bigger issue here is that you should be directing this to your coach if you are paying someone to prep you for a contest.
It can be frustrating working with a client to accomplish a specific goal and later find out they are doing things substantially different from what you laid out in their program.
Ask your coach.1 -

Have you ever competed? I've competed in the past but it was Olympic lifting. I was 40 lb heavier than I am now. Not much experience in the "bodybuilding" world ... Maybe about 9 months0

I absolutely can NOT perform pull-ups or chin-ups daily.
I get tendinitis along the inner forearm just below the elbow. I think this is called "golfer's elbow" which only compounds the insult...lol
Maybe you're able to handle it, but if you began to feel pain in those areas, STOP!
It took me months to fully recover, and I love pull-ups.

Nah I'm not a competitor ..I'm an old woman..it's why I asked sidesteel and niner to jump in..they're both trainers and well respected round here
I do know, from everything I've read, experienced and been trained in that rest days are when you get your gains though
And edit ...missed that sidesteel had posted, good point too, so that was possibly aimed at him right? LOL...slinks off sheepishly0 -
I do not compete in physique related sports.
I compete in powerlifting and I coach general population clients as well as some powerlifters.
But I stand by my previous statement in the thread.
This is something you need to ask your coach about. That's what you're paying him or her for.
