Different sizes?

Hey guys, I know this might sound weird but I wanted to know. Im 5ft 11 and fit in to size UK 18 but my measurements are much bigger! Does height have anything to do with it? Like your shorter do you take a bigger size than someone who is 6ft but same measurements? I wasn't too sure, hopefully you will understand what I mean :) and does my height mean I'm bigger than I actually think i am?

    No standardised clothes sizes anywhere ..not even within brands or stores

    I wear size 4 jeans (gap), size 8-12 clothes (everywhere from Phase 8, White Stuff, Hobbs, H&M, sportswear) and have a perfectly fitting size 14 jacket (M&S) ...all UK sizes
