How to work out with a bum leg

I recently had to stop going to Bodypump classes and running because I injured my knee and am going soon for an MRI. I am becoming down because I cant work out and I am feeling terrible about my stomach area. What is an intense way to lose weight or work out while unable to run and do bodypump? I cant even bike or be on the elliptical, doctor said nothing more than general activites

    Swim using your arms only?

Or just rest till you can get fixed and eat in a calorie deficit?

I would encourage you to listen to your doctor, wait for the MRI results, and continue to follow medical recommendations. Don't do anything that could make your injury worse.

Re-evaluate your calorie intake if you're looking to lose weight.

Why can't you work your upper body like normal?

Eat at a deficit? I lost 13lbs in 3 months simply by modifying my diet rather than adding additional cardio

I tore my ACL and could not use that leg for about four months after my surgery. I went to the gym and used all the upper body machines. Wasn't great. But, hey, it got me thru.

Diet will be far more important than exercise at this point. Log what you eat carefully so you stick to the calorie goal Myfitnesspal gives you. When it comes to weight loss meeting your calorie goal is far more important than exercising.
