Starting to lose my mojo and do not want to

So since January I've been doing fantastic with the weight loss, managed to meet two goals that I set out for myself and decided to do one more 5 lb weight loss goal just to yo yo back and forth within that 5 lb mark, I still think that's a great idea.
I love having the 50 lbs gone, I love that I'm into smaller clothing, I'm into a size 10 for the first time since I was 14 years old and I'm now 42 and I'm loving it sooooo much. Having said that, I found last week and it's starting again this week that laziness is starting to kick in and while I'm still doing my walking activity I'm not enjoying it as much as I was say even two weeks ago...so I don't know if I'm bored and need to change up the activity or if I'm simply losing my edge and I do not want to do that. While I haven't strayed away from eating properly, I feel like even that is something that I wants to do. Any thoughts or ideas on how to get out of this?

WTG with the 50# down!! AMAZING!!! I think most of us go through this. For me I had to find a new routine and change up my diet a bit. I think you just have to get back into the same mind set that helped you lose initially and it will come back from there.1

How long have you been feeling this way? Honestly, sometimes I have bad days...Even bad weeks that I just don't want to do anything. Maybe try taking up a new activity that you can burn calories, walk a different route, switch up your playlist, bring a friend, or maybe setting a goal (i.e., walk x miles a week) that will help you challenge your self.

Perhaps rather than losing that 5 extra pounds right now you could use a little time on maintenance calories for the goal weight? That would still have you on a tiny deficit, after all, but you'd get a chance to get used to the way you'll be eating from that point forward.
If merely walking is boring you why not something to jazz it up a bit? You could throw in some running intervals. How about listening to something while you walk that you can only listen to while walking? A book on tape or even a running or walking app like Zombies, Run! or a podcast would be good choices.1 -
Thanks gals I was like it most of last week and it seemed to be like it again today. Maybe that's a good idea that I put my goal in maintenance for a few weeks and see if that does help. I'm going to be starting doing some Zumba classes this week and hopefully that will change up the activity a bit and still burn a pile of calories and I agree I do have to get myself back into a mind frame. All great ideas and thanks for that2

I have that. Seems like every 6 weeks or so I'm not that motivated to work out. I still do but it's force of habit. Think it's just body wanting a rest or something new. As much as exercise is a physical thing..it's a mental thing too. It needs to stimulate the brain like work does.
It needs to be challenged like it would doing something intellectual. That, and tied into a goal be it for that worj out or a longer goal.0 -

Amanda, I have never posted on here and I am on for at least about 20 days or so. I am one of those that do better alone and on my own so to speak...I take peeks and read the threads once in a while..I am 51, almost 52 in the fall..I am only 5 feet tall, and dont look my age...I have lost 16 pounds so far..and I have 20 to go. ( Want to fit into my older smaller sizes ) It's easy to get lazy, but I cannot. I am going to do this til the end. I have lost this weight before...but as well all know, life, stresses and more gets in the way and as women we are more emotional. So with all that said...
I am telling you that you are not alone in having the same thoughts about getting lazy, after all, we are all human. You have come such a long way and it takes work, we all know that. So, dont give up! If you must, switch it up, try new recipes, but do not give up. Look at all the work you have done, and all you have accomplished. Think long term....I know it's hard, we all do. But we know you can do it. You got this!

Amanda, you know how to do this, you've lost a pound 50 times! This loss of mojo happens to all of us, but don't let it stop you. You have developed good habits, so stick to them and you will continue to have results. Maybe you need to change your activity, maybe just walk in a different location when you can, or consider taking a class, doing C25k to ease into running, do Leslie Sansone Walk at Home videos, etc. You don't have to have mojo to succeed, you need to continue your good habits.

thanks so much peeps, you've been awesome and very encouraging. I definitely know how to do this and I know it's the life time commitment and I certainly need to come to terms with that fact or I'll end up back in the boat I was to begin with. Thinking about doing a zumba step classes that should peek my interest into another activity direction, I used to love zumba classes a few years ago and like anything it ran its course but I've been away from it for awhile so hopefully it hasn't run it's course indefinitely. I do enjoy walking, not just for the physical activity but also I find it great for the mind as well, so I'm heading out now on my lunch break and giving it a whirl if it stops raining lol.1

If you're getting bored with walking there's nothing wrong with starting something different. Or building up on that to combat the boredom.0
