Just wasn't feeling it this morning

I am a morning exerciser. I do 30 min a day most days of the week. I'll never go for athleticism etc. Just creating a deficit. Today I wasn't feeling it. I just couldn't make myself suit up. I feel crappy about it but I'm not sure that is any more motivating. I just wanted to vent - I'm sure I'll be back at it tomorrow.

Maybe your joints needed a rest day? I like to get 20-25 mins under my belt before the day starts, but if I've had a heavy few days (like we've been clearing a garden border) sometimes I just can't do it. And never the morning after an evening class!0

A rest day is absolutely fine. I think it actually benefits your training in the long run, might make you better, faster.
I feel like I HAVE to exercise everyday. Even if it's something low impact like walking. My mood suffers a lot if I don't. I don't know if it's the hormones exercise influence, but it just gives me motivation for the rest of the day. If I skip a workout I just want to stay in bed and do nothing all day.
Oh, and I also enjoy walking outside because I literally crave sunshine...lol, I've wondered if I have Vit D deficiency or something.0 -
It's my morning to run, and I slept horrible last night. I'm REALLY not feeling it, so I know exactly what you mean. I'm going to finish my coffee and go for it. Hopefully I'll make it.
Don't beat yourself up about it. There is nothing wrong with taking a day off now and again.0 -
Maybe instead of normal workout do a walk? Or just do something. I decided even when I don't feel like it, I have to show up, and do 15 min of something, if by then I still don't feel like doing a workout ok, but usually by then I'm ready to go with a full workout. However rest days are extremely important as well!3

As a counterpoint to the above: I felt like total hell this morning, to the point where I thought I was going to puke everywhere if I tried to lift anything. Forced myself into the gym, and as soon as I hit my first warm-up set on deadlifts, my stomach calmed down, and I could tell by the way the bar was moving, that it was on. Then I proceeded to nail yet another PR with minimal grind.
This seems to happen to me pretty often. The days where I feel the absolute worst at the start, end up being some of the most productive if I force through it.3 -

This is what I do. I tell myself as long as I do 15 min it "counts". I always end up doing a full workout. The one time I quit was a long-run day when it was 77 deg and 100% humidity at 5 am. That day I called it quits after 4 miles.0 -
I have my 15 min walk to work (and back) so as long as I'm working I do get at least 1/2 hour. But I like to get a workout in as well if I can or I feel I'm slipping back into bad couch potato habits.0

Sometimes I just can't get motivated either, I don't care how much I need the exercise, or where i'm at in my workout schedule for the week, I just can't get moving. Just pick it back up tomorrow, or do what the others said and try just walking for 10-15 mins just to get moving.0

You're allowed a day off and to not feel it every now and then! Don't worry or beat yourself up over it - just get back on it tomorrow.0

We all have good days and not-so-good days but the one thing I have learned is that I always feel better when I overrule that voice in my head that tells me to slack off (unless it's a scheduled recovery day) but my reason for getting out there is also different, it's about the fitness (even though I could afford to lose more weight my goals are fitness related)1
