So I planned a great meal for brunch, or so I thought. I'm a vegetarian, and I'm reducing carbs...ha ha, yea it's fun. lol But today I'm already over my fat allowance. The culprits being half of an avocado, and 1/4 cup of walnuts. Is this okay considering they are healthy fats, or just more poor planning. I still have dinner to go. Yesterday I was starving, from bad meal planning, and today I feel great. Trying to find my sea legs here. Any advice would be super fly.

If you're reducing carbs then you can eat more fat can't you?3

Going over your fat for a day isn't going to be a problem. Weight loss will happen when you consistently hit your calorie goal. Fat is only a problem if it crowds out other things that you need.1

Don't think about it as a fat "allowance", consider it to be a minimum that you should aim to hit.
If you had a tasty meal that you feel great about and it fits into your calories for the day - feel great about it! Nothing to be upset about here.1 -
You have three choices when it comes to macros: carbohydrates, fat and protein. If you're reducing carbs then you need to increase the amount of fat and protein you eat. Fat has more calories per gram than protein (and carbs): 9 calories vs. 4 calories. Macro ratio is much less important than calorie goal.
All of that leads to this point: You reduced carbs and that means you're going to eat more fat. Don't worry about it.1 -
Don't stress too much over one day. Cut some throughout the rest of the week, it all comes out in the wash. Try to look at things over the long run rather than short term.
Or, as a few others have pointed out, you may need to adjust your macro goals. You can eat more fat as long as your calories stay in line you'll keep losing weight.1 -
Most days I am way over my fat limit . But it's good fat. Poly and Monosaturated fats . I've lost 30 pounds in 6 months eating low carbs and good fats .. And DDP Yoga1

Wow, I guess I was being too hard on myself. I know dinner was the bomb. The calories were ridiculously low. I have conquered tofu! I had angel hair tofu pasta. I was super impressed. It has a different texture, but with all the veggies, and bit of cheese..this girl is a happy camper. Thanks for all the advice, and it all makes sense. I've been researching my buns off, well not really they're still back there. Thanks again everyone. I appreciate the info, and awesome support. Have a wonderful evening.2
