I was looking to speak to someone who has enlisted or is in the coast guard in regards to getting accepted

    Excuse me? Real branch? Il have you know the coast guard are the proud men and woman who search and rescue not seek and destroy. Have respect for your military brothers and sisters

    Oh lol sorry if I was a bit tense. I have good friends, as well as my father and pop who were coast guard sailors. Served in ww2 and desert storm so it's just an insult when people say it's not a real branch

    I was in the USCG a long time ago from 4 years active and 4 years inactive reserves, stationed in CA, MD and VA. Had a lot of fun- learned to be responsible and made some great friends. Did search and rescue, food service and patrol. I have family and friends in other branches of service and we hung out all the time. Even though my Marine buddie drank and fought the most, my Army and Navy buddies traveled the most and the my Air Force buddies loved being in the clouds, I remember the us throwing the best parties! Sometimes I think I should have stayed active longer but no regrets.
