fitbit question and adding exercise

Options
Ok so I too off my fitbit while on my elliptical so when I try adding it to my exercise it adjusts my step calories from my fitbit to 1. If i delete my elliptical exercise it adjusts it back to 210 calories burned from steps so far....why can't I have both?

Its assuming you were wearing your fitbit while working out and adjusting your steps down to avoid double counting. You can either enter the workout on the fit bit app instead or just wear your fitbit while working out.

Try adding the workout to your fitbit instead. It will add the calories earned to your daily burn and sync over. I do that when I swim since the charge hr isn't waterproof

    1. Value gets added to MFP base calories which increments MFP total.
    2. MFP also sends the value, start time, and duration to Fitbit.
    3. Fitbit replaces what it counted between start time and end time with the value you sent.
    4. New Fitbit total for calories to this moment of time gets computed.
    5. MFP compares the incremented total to the Fitbit value for calories right now.
    6. A new adjustment gets issued.

IF you trust Fitbit and want to still announce activity on MFP:
    1-3 stays the same.
    4. You login to Fitbit's site and delete the imported MFP activity.
    5. This restores Fitbit's original calculations
    6. Since MFP is higher than it used to be the Fitbit adjustment will go down, but the caloric value this adjustment reflects will not have changed.
