MFP... Calorie setting

Once you've entered in your stats do you stick to what calorie goals it sets for you or do you change it to what you want? Mine popped up at 1415/day but that seems high for weight loss. Typically I stick to about 1200/day.
Thoughts?

I mean what are your goals? What are your stats?
If you put in your height and weight, your activity level, and how much weight you'd like to lose per week and it's saying 1400, personally, I'd eat 1400.2 -
1415 is not high at all. Try it for a few weeks, logging as accurately as possible, and you'll likely find you'll lose.2

Eat what MFP gives you. Assuming you put your information in correctly and are logging correctly, you will lose at that level. Picking some arbitrary number sort of defeats the purpose of having MFP calculate the calories you need.3

Thanks for your input

You should definitely follow the guideline and track everything carefully for two weeks. A normal diet is 2,000 calories a day and anything under 1500 is really low. The body needs some fuel to keep going.1

My original stats worked for me for a months but when my weight loss plateaued, I lowered my activity level one notch and got it going again.1

I searched online for calculators how to get your basic metabolic rate and mine is 1415. So that's just how much i need to stay alive. My goal is 1500 and i am loosing at a steady pace even thogh I trnd to overeat slightly.
My advice would be stick to mfp and get used to logging and see how it goes.
Good luck xx1 -
Thanks again..... It's more of a mental "oh crap if I eat more than 1200 I can't lose".....but I'm gonna give it a whirl at 14101
