hi, my name is Brandi ! I'm 22 and I sadly weigh 379lbs. truthfully, I don't eat a lot. and I don't eat much. however, I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and adrenarche working against me and that doesn't help with the obesity. I'm tired of being the family member on beach vacations who can't wear cute bikinis, and lo and behold I'm going on a vacation to myrtle beach with the family in July. ... with my long distance boyfriend.

Hi!
I have always struggled with my weight and I understand not wanting to be the one in the tshirt over my bathing suit.
Add me as a friend and we can take some steps together! I have lost weight successfully before but I've had 2 babies and I'm struggling to get into a positive groove after the second one!
My biggest words of advice:
1. Track! You have to track to realize what you're eating. I know you said that you don't eat much but maybe you're not eating enough? If you don't eat enough your body will hold onto those calories instead of burning them.
2. Find support! Hey! You're doing that already!!! Find some friends or family members that can give you a boost!
3. Water! Drink lots of water!!!
4. Get some fresh air! Heading outside for a walk is refreshing and good for the soul, and gets you moving! I am particularly lucky because I live in the country on a gravel road. There's rarely anyone around and it's very peaceful.
5. Make yourself or get yourself a notebook or binder and write! Write about why you're doing this, what you want to accomplish, goals, dreams, successes! I love writing and it inspires me when I can look back and recall those great days! Even if it's a bad day write about it and you'll realize how far you've come!
6. Celebrate small victories! Whether it's resisting a temptation, a new walking record, or a half a pound lost, or an inch lost, be happy! Try not to celebrate with food though! Get yourself that new bottle of nail polish, that purse, those shoes, a tattoo, whatever you can think back and say "I deserve this".
7. Be positive and kind to yourself! This is so hard! I am working on this now!! I have overcome some very negative points in life and some hardships and I know I'm strong! Find your strength and remember how much you have overcome already!
8. Dream BIG! Think of what you want to be able to do after you lose 10,20,40,50,75,100 pounds! The sky is the limit!!!!
9. I also love finding inspirational quotes on Pinterest! I have created a board for myself and I visit it to read the quotes I have pinned. I have it locked and I invited one very close friend to it and that's it! It's just for me and my journey!
10. Do your measurements! Write them in your book or binder and visit them! You may not notice huge differences on the scale sometimes but I bet your clothes and measurements will tell the tale of your work! Take before pictures too!
Sounds very long winded but I wish you nothing but the best, all the success you can dream of and hope for!!
I believe that positive comments and feedback and motivation from others is huge so...
Go after your dream, work for it but GO GET IT!
You can do it!! One step at a time and you will notice changes!
Add me as a friend because I could use the support and help too!
Good luck!!!!!1 -
Hi OP!
Plug your stats into MFP and just start logging. Try eating like you normally do for a week, log everything accurately and consistently, and then see exactly where you are starting from.
A great little "experiment" to at least start out with is to get a food scale (like $15 on Amazon) and weigh your portions for at least a couple of weeks. Weighing food is the most accurate, and this is a great self-check on how you visualize a portion size. Some people stick with the food scale permanently, and some can't, but a couple of weeks at least will make sure you are starting with good numbers.
Start walking - it's a great exercise to start out with and to get in the habit of scheduling time to do so.
Be patient! Weight loss doesn't happen on a schedule and no one is perfect. Just keep playing with your way of eating until you find something you like and fits your calorie goal, get back on the horse when you fall off, and hang in there. Good luck!1 -
Feel free to add me for exercise support.
