Digital v Analog/Mechanical Scale?

I hope this is the right place to post this.

Are digital or mechanical scales more accurate? I weighed myself clothed on my digital scale immediately before heading to the doctor, but less than 20 minutes later I showed as 4lbs pounds lighter on their mechanical scale. When I returned home, I weighed exactly the same as I had before leaving, and hadn't eaten/drank anything in that frame.

Or should I just accept the 4lbs difference as normal? I suppose it's not that big of a deal, but for me that means 2lb away from goal weight not 6lbs!

If you lined up seven scales in a room and stepped on each, you'd probably end up with eight different weights. Unfortunately it's the nature of the beast when it comes to weighing. Each scale is calibrated differently and affected by different things. There's no way to know which is more accurate. Pick one scale and stick with it. Accept the rest as noise.

My doctor's scales are 7lbs heavier than mine at home. But when he weighs me I've still lost the same amount of weight which ever scales I use.
