Hello All,
The title says it all. I am a 40 year old guy that has not led a very active life with the exception of the kinds of work I have done. I have been a power plant shift supervisor and a small lawn and landscape business owner/operator and now I am an RN so my work life stays rather busy but in the last 6 months I have really packed on some serious weight. I was 192-200 in the month of December and since then I have ballooned to over 230. I have a friend at work that has been into fitness his entire life and one year ago when I joined the team at the hospital I work at, he offered me help and I kinda poo pooed him and went on about my business. Well fast forward one year and he is sticking to his word. I will be doing my very first gym session in 40 years of life on Tuesday morning. He also has me beginning a GNC total lean 2 day cleanse and then sticking closely to the Michi's Ladder diet plan. I will also be taking 1 Shakeology shake a day mixed with frozen fruits/pb2 powder for extra benefits. We are not going to cut me down to a ridiculous low amount of calories since I have never even tried this stuff. My plan includes 5 meals in 10 hours with a 12 hour intermittent fast daily and exercise 6 out of 7 days each week. I am going to need all the support I can get because I am not the most motivated man on earth and until I begin to see the actual results of how well this will be working I am going to struggle with it.
p.s. I am also on a mission to defeat a new onset RA diagnosis. I am currently taking 40mg prednisone a day to get control of inflammation in my feet that had me totally immobilized for 2 months.
