What's the hurry? If you do it right you will lose about 1% of your body weight each week. If you do it wrong you'll lose weight faster and you won't be able to keep it off.1

The problem is you'll just gain it all back, but fast weight loss is like that.
The MFP recommendation is no more than 2 pounds per week. 1 pound lost per week is even better.
For safe, steady and lasting results, eat right, exercise smart, and forget "FAST" weight loss.
That's the prescription for failure.

Well, if you want very fast and extremely noticeable weight loss, you can always decide on which limb is your least favorite and have it amputated.
Realistically even in the best case, dropping 20 pounds of actual fat is probably going to take you three to four months or so.3 -

I know that @Return2Fit is joking, but just in case you didn't realise it - do NOT do this.
Everything else he said is spot on. If you only have 20lbs to lose, you want to aim for 0.5 - 1lb per week. Enter your stats into MFP and eat the amount of calories it gives you. Be accurate with weighing and logging your food. Exercise if you like to. Adjust your expectations - you didn't gain 20lbs in a week, why would you expect to lose it that fast?
Whatever upcoming event it is that you want to look thinner for (I presume this is why you want to lose it "fast" and "noticeably", it seems to be the usual reason), you won't enjoy it if you starve yourself and have no energy or look sick. Concentrate on just doing whatever you can reasonably accomplish in your desired time-frame, and find an outfit that you look stunning in. I bet no one will notice the extra pounds if you wear something really flattering.
Take it slow and healthy, and good luck!1 -

Good point, that would certainly be noticeable!0 -

Beat me to it, cut off a limb.
Seriously, there is no good way to lose weight fast. You really don't want to just lose weight, you want to lose fat. Set your account here up for one pound a week and log your calories carefully.0 -
@missrabbitt1 I just looked at your previous thread - you admit to not weighing or logging everything, guessing at portion sizes and drinking on the weekends. All of this will be slowing down your progress.
If you'd started doing this right two months ago, you'd have lost a few pounds by now. Weight loss is pretty much 100% calorie intake, and hitting the gym without regulating your intake isn't going to work if fat loss is what you're looking for. Take note of the advice you were given in the other thread, get a food scale, and stop guessing!
Sorry if that sounds harsh, I don't mean it to... but it really is important to nail down your weighing and logging if you want to see results. Make sure to log your alcohol too.3 -

& @rileysowner I swear this was my first thought.

In addition to aiming for 0.5 lb of weight loss per week, which is probably the most you can hope for with so little to lose,
when you go to the gym start doing weightlifting, and make it progressively harder.
As you lose weight, and much of it will be fat, you will also be developing muscles which will look awesome.
None of this is fast.
BTW, have you checked the BMI calculator to see if your current & goal weights are healthy for your height?
Because first off, if your current weight is healthy you're going to have a slower time losing any more weight, and should aim for the slow sculpting / toning / awesomeness that is weightlifting.
And secondly, if your goal weight is unhealthy you need to talk it over with your doctor, and maybe a counselor who specializes in body issues, to get yourself a healthy head to go with the awesome body you'll be developing (see above, about weightlifting). You're young. Better to do it now & enjoy it for the rest of your life.0
