Is it smart to ride a bike everyday for 5 miles??

Sure, as healthy as any other cardio for the same amount of time.1

It's a very short ride, but it's always better to do anything you can squeeze in, so yes, ride and enjoy.3

Best thing you could ever do!
Once you get into it and get fitter, you can change your route to add some miles. Building up slowly is the key and whatever you do, don't forget to stretch before and after your ride.
Thing i love most about biking is that you see things / places you would never see in a car.

You could even pick one or two days a week and start increasing your distance.1
