I've been having a problem with constipation so I got an advice to use psyllium husks to relieve the problem. While using psyllium husks I noticed a great reduction on my appetite, I no longer crave food that much and I can stay until my next meal easily than before which has helped me to be able to stay on track on my calorie intake.my questions is: does taking psyllium husk everyday cause any problem? The honest truth is that I feel much better everyday. I use about a tablespoon (5g) with bbreakfast, again with lunch, my snack and dinner. So that is about 20g per day. Now I'm able to keep my 1400cal without any problems in fact I feel satiated at all my meals.

It's just fibre, fibre has that effect on me also. Make sure you keep well hydrated with it.0

Psyllium husks has fiber, which suppresses appetite in some people.

The 20g per day can't pose any problems?0

Only if you increase it too quickly and give yourself bloating and stomach cramps. It works out a round 18-20g of fibre. At least it would in the brand I buy.1

As long as you get enough water (or equivalent) and some fat, so that the fiber moves through your system smoothly, that amount of fiber shouldn't present any hidden problems. (I say "hidden problems" because some folks do see bloating or digestive distress if they increase fiber suddenly.)
Personally, I like getting my fiber from high volume/low calorie veggies & fruits, because I find those more tasty & satisfying, but psyllium is OK, too.0 -
You found something that works! High five! The grams per day are very reasonable.2

I have around 15-20g psyllium everyday too. I make a 'pudding' with protein powder, psyllium, flaxseed meal and almond milk, I mix it up with a stick blender and it ends up a pudding consistency, it is very filling. Sometimes i also add coconut oil which makes it even more filling!0
