Is it possible to lose 20kgs in 4months? Or have any of you accomplished this?

If you're pretty obese and don't mind losing muscle mass

It is perhaps possible, but not healthy. A maximum healthy weight loss would be around 1 kg per week, which would result in a loss of around 8 kg in 4 months.

Depending on how much you weigh and how much you need to lose, it may be a little tough. That's 2.75 lbs a week. You may have a week here and there that you may lose 2-3 lbs, but most of the time it may only be 1-1 1/2 lbs. Maybe stretch it out to 5 months where it'll be around 2 lbs a week. You didn't put on this weight overnight, so you can't lose it overnight. Be patient to ensure you lose it in a healthy way.

It depends on what your starting height and weight is. 2 lbs a week is generally the recommended maximum, and that's only if you're fairly obese. If you're overweight BMI or near the healthy range, you really shouldn't be losing more than 1 lb per week. Losing 2.75 lb in those ranges would mean eating at a dangerously low calorie level. What's the big rush, anyway?
