Hi, I wear a Fitbit everyday, all day and I have found out I can connect it to MFP which I have done but will it only record my calories if I do an exercise or will it record my daily exercise eg steps?? So far it isn't appearing in my diary at all but it's connected in my apps and is synced on my iPhone app

Hello, there's a whole Message Board dedicated to Fitbit users, i'm sure you'll find the answer on there

I was looking to see if I was the only one this was happening to! It used to work for me, but now it won't sync over. It's weird b/c MFP stuff (cals, exercises logged in MFP, water, etc) all are syncing with Fitbit, but not vice versa. It's really disheartening.

You have to go into MFP and choose to use fitbit to record steps. On the website, I believe its under Steps. Don't think you can get to it from the app.

As for what it sends over, it will send over your step count and total calorie burn for the day at time of sync. MFP uses that number to extrapolate your total burn until midnight and then subtracts what it thinks your maintenance number is. That is the adjustment it will give you.

For example, yesterday I had 13,000 steps and burned 2400 calories according to fitbit. MFP says I should burn 1800 for maintenance so I got a 600 calorie adjustment added to my 1560 daily goal.

You can also choose to include negative adjustments for those days when you're not as active.
